What is STAP-Budget?

STAP-budget is an allowance for education (only in the Netherlands). With this budget you can improve your position on the Dutch job market. You can apply for this allowance every year to use for education.

  • You can apply for the STAP-budget per application period. It is important to be there FAST before the budget has run out!

    The next time slot for submitting the application is  May 1st before 10 am! 

The subsequent time slots for submitting the application are:

      • 3 July
      • 4 September
      • 1 November

  • If the budget for a certain period has been used up, you can apply again in a subsequent period.

  • You can apply for a new STAP budget every year!

For whom?

Every working person (including self-employed) or job seeker can apply for the STAP Budget. This can be done once per year per person.

How do you apply for the STAP-budget?

Step 1:
Register for the desired course as soon as possible.


Step 2:
You will receive a PDF of the STAP registration certificate (het STAP-aanmeldingsbewijs)  before the start of the application period (aanvraagtijdvak). You need this proof of registration for your STAP application at the UWV. 

Step 3:
When the application period (aanvraagtijdvak) starts, make sure you are logged in at the website of STAP at UWV before 10 am. Enter the requested information. You need the STAP proof of registration (aanmeldingsbewijs) from STEP 2.

Step 4:
If the application is approved, the payment will be transferred from UWV to the training institute. If the application is not approved (for instance: the budget for the application period has run out), you are exempt from any fee. The participation will then be canceled free of charge. It is possible to try again for the next application period.

Step 5:
As soon as the STAP-budget has been allocated by UWV, you start the online course on the chosen date.The day the course starts, you will receive your login details from Textilice.
